The city of Cambridge recently announced that it has joined Charlotte, North Carolina; Heidelberg, Germany; and Nantes, France, in an initiative called Energy Allies with The German Marshall Fund’s Urban and Regional Policy Program in partnership with Energy Cities.
Energy Allies is an 18-month transatlantic project that will harness the role of civil society in cities as drivers of sustainable solutions to climate change. It will bring together a delegation of local civil society and government leaders along with stakeholders from umbrella organizations in the U.S. and the European Union to collaborate on innovative approaches to energy transition in cities.
GMF recently held an event with speakers from Nantes, Heidelberg and Cambridge that discussed how their respective cities are working toward collaborative energy transition solutions. (read more)
